Studying Biomedical Science at Sheffield

Picture: Life at Sheffield

Our three year (BSc) undergraduate degree course in Biomedical Science offers you flexible study options and the chance to specialise. You can also spend part of your degree studying, working or teaching in another country as part of the Erasmus and Study Abroad programme.

We aim to instil a knowledge of modern biology; to instruct future clinical practitioners in the biological basis of medicine; and to train future researchers. Our graduates have an excellent employability record in a range of careers.

We are one of the largest departments within the University. Our buildings are located at the heart of the campus, near the students' union and the new Information Commons library.

During the past few years over £40m has been spent on our facilities to deliver state-of-the-art laboratories, lecture theatres, computer suites and teaching equipment, providing an outstanding learning environment for our students.

The city centre is only a few minutes walk away and the Peak District National Park surrounds the borders of Sheffield.
