Public Understanding of Science and Biomedical Science: SEA Scheme
Science and Engineering Ambassadors Scheme
If you are interested in promoting science in the public domain, why not become a Science and Engineering Ambassador. Under the SEA scheme scientists volunteer to work with young people and schoolchildren. When you join the scheme you are given a free police check (mandatory to work with children now) and advice on how to get started. Your time commitment can be as large or as small as you want. By participating in this scheme you have the chance to inspire children by communicating your science interests. You will also be an excellent role model.
For more information go the following web site, which contains information on the application process.
For those of you in South Yorkshire interested in joining please contact Pat Brunskill at Sheffield Hallam University, who will be happy to help.
