Public Understanding of Science and Biomedical Science: The Royal Society

Together with two local primary schools the department was awarded a Royal Society Partnership grant.

This grant provided funds for the purchase of equipment for the schools, e.g. heart rate monitors and heart models.

Dr Louise Robson went into each school for two days to work with the children on the heart and lungs, and the children also visited the University to examine muscles, using the specialist equipment in the University teaching laboratories.
