Entry requirements for Bioengineering courses

Students entering courses in 2013:

A wide range of qualifications is acceptable for entry to our courses. Due to demand applicants are advised that an offer will be made for one course only. There is provision for an applicant to change course where places are available.

We consider each application on its merits and may tailor our offer to suit your achievements, experience and potential.

International students will require IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each component, or equivalent English language qualification

All home students who meet the requirements will be invited to attend an Open Day and interview.

Typical entry requirements:

GCE/VCE A Levels:

AAB (MEng) or ABB (BEng) from 3 GCE A Levels including GCE A Level Maths plus two other Science subjects

Scottish Advanced Highers:

MEng - AB + AAABB for SQA Advanced Highers + Highers (to include Maths and 2 sciences).

BEng - AB + AABBB for SQA Advanced Highers + Highers (to include Maths and 2 sciences).

Irish Leaving Certificate:

AAAABB (MEng) or AABBBB (BEng), to include Maths and two other Science subjects

BTEC Level N:

DDD in an appropriate subject area including Distinction in Further Maths, plus B in an A Level Science subject

International Baccalaureate:

35 points (MEng) or 33 points (BEng) (including 6/5 points in Maths and two Science subjects at Higher Level)

Foundation Year:

Scottish Highers + Advanced Highers - AABBB+ AB
Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level) - AABBBB
BTEC - DDD
International Baccaulaureate - 33
Cambridge Pre-U - D3 M2 M2
Advanced Diploma - Engineering, grade A. Plus A Level, grade B
International students require IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component, or an equivalent English language qualification
