Staff development policy

I. Background and Purpose

This departmental policy aims to promote staff development in order to facilitate the achievement of University and departmental goals and to help individual staff achieve their personal and career goals. It is consistent with the University's staff development policy and will be revised in line with internal or external changes affecting staff development.

The policy was drafted by the Head of Department, and was revised in light of discussion at the Staff meeting, and with members of academic and secretarial staff. A copy has been supplied to all staff and is available on the departmental web-site (http://www.shef.ac.uk/uni/academic/A-C/biblst/staff/staffdevpolicy.html) for information.
