2011 marks the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible, the first English Bible authorised for use in churches throughout England. Its publication shaped the English language, infusing the history and culture of England and all English-speaking countries. A key document that extends beyond its religious origins, no discipline is untouched by the Bible's influence.
This event is part of the Sheffield King James Project. Related activities include:
• Biblical Literacy and the Curriculum conference hosted by the Department of Biblical Studies
• A series of public lectures hosted by the Department of Biblical Studies
