Sheffield University Branch
The University of Sheffield has over 70 members
(June 2012) and is one of the largest branches in the South Yorkshire region. Our members reflect the diversity of administrative jobs undertaken at the University with members in academic departments, central departments and research groups.
We regularly combine with Sheffield Hallam University to provide a plethora of branch events over the academic year. This programme supports the professional behaviours of the AUA and provides opportunities for our branch members to enhance their knowledge of the HE sector and network to share good practice across the AUA Sheffield ‘super-branch’. We are a super-branch due to the combined size of our members and excellence achieved in providing a varied programme of branch events. In 2009 we were awarded an AUA award to reflect this success.
Our members regularly contribute to the AUA Annual and Regional Conferences. We have representation on aspects of AUA governance such as the AUA Board of Trustees and Council which enables the branch to increase our influence within Higher and Further education management development. Several of our members have completed or are studying the AUA PG certification and others have been awarded the additional status as ‘Fellows’ of the AUA.
