How is the ideological construction of ‘home’ produced and consumed through use?

How does house design meet the needs of an ageing population?

What is the role of the architect in the design of the home and why do so few people use architects to design their homes?

How do we create intimacy between ourselves, our homes and our communities and how can that intimacy manifest itself upon the home environment?

The At Home group was initiated at the School of Architecture in 2010.
It emerged out of mutual interests, shared discussions and concerns,
previous individual and collective projects and research around the
notion of home, housing, and communities.

Despite the topic’s importance and its notable presence throughout the
School of Architecture this work had so far not been consolidated. To
address this, the expressed intent of the At Home group is to act as a
catalyst for the various strands of interest that culminate in our
different attitudes if the ‘home’.
