Field Schools run by the Department of Archaeology
In June we will be offering 6-week and 2-week fieldwork training at the Scheduled Ancient Monument at Manor Lodge. The first season of excavation will focus on the south range of the 15th-17th century Manor Lodge and the 18th-19th century hamlet that developed within the ruins of the abandoned estate.
Excavations at the site of the medieval hospital and chapel of St Mary Magdalene,Bawtry, South Yorkshire.
The Brodsworth Archaeology Project has been running for 8 years as a fieldcourse for students for the Universities of Sheffield and Hull and as a community archaeology project. Since 2006 we have opened up participation further by building on the established structure to develop a field school open to a wider audience.
