Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange

knowledge exchange banner

> There is great potential for academics across basic and applied research in the Animal and Plant Sciences department to collaborate with organisations in the private, public and NGO sectors. We endeavour to engage with external organisations in the early stages of research projects, to exchange knowledge, develop novel research, innovation and applications. The co-development of new knowledge can have important benefits for our environment, society and the economy.

Facilitating knowledge exchange

APS has a NERC Knowledge Exchange Fellow, Dr Alison Holt, whose role is to allow environmental science to be accessed and used, and to identify areas where collaboration between researchers, the private, public and NGO sectors can be enabled. This is done through liaising directly with external organisations, providing information on research and contacts. Events on specific themes are also arranged to gauge interest and stimulate discussion between sectors.

Knowledge exchange case studies and events

Below are examples of collaborative research projects, and other activities, in APS that demonstrate the role of knowledge exchange in developing more sustainable environmental management, providing benefits for society and the economy.
