Tax benefits – UK, USA and Canada

Gift Aid for UK tax payers

The University is an exempt charity (no X 1089). If you are a UK taxpayer your gift may qualify for tax benefits.

If you make a "Gift Aid Declaration" on the donation form, online, or over the phone, the Inland Revenue will increase your gift by 25p for every £1 you give.

If you pay higher rate tax, you may reclaim xx% of the gift value through your income tax return. This could enable you to make a larger gift at no additional cost.

US Tax Deductions

If you are a US taxpayer, you will be eligible for tax deductions if you make your gift through the "University of Sheffield in America, Inc." This is our 501( c )(3) registered non-profit in the States.

Canada tax deductions

Your gift is fully tax-deductible under Canadian law and you will receive an official receipt for tax purposes when we receive your gift. To make your gift, please follow the link on the right to donate online.
