The Alumni Fund

Alumni and friends can help current students by making a charitable donation to the Alumni Fund.
A university education is about much more than getting a degree. At university, new ideas are formed and exchanged, new skills discovered and developed, and new friendships made - often for life.
We want to ensure that today's students continue to benefit from an excellent education, first class study facilities, and opportunities to develop their talents.
Support from former students like you will help us do this.
Your gift to the Alumni Fund will directly benefit students by:
- Creating bursaries, of £2,000 each, for talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds who might not otherwise be able to study here
- Building and enhancing study facilities, such as the Information Commons (the University’s new 24-hour learning resources centre, due to open in early 2007.)
- Providing grants to student clubs and societies for sport, drama, music, welfare and community projects
More than 2,100 alumni and friends have made donations to the Alumni Fund since it began in 2003, raising more than £300,000. Their generosity has helped transform the lives of many students; giving them the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Please join our regular donors to the Alumni Fund, and help today´s students receive the same great education and opportunities that we hope you did.
How to make a gift
Every gift makes a difference - whether you can give £10, £100, or £1,000, your gift will be used carefully to achieve maximum impact.
Gifts to the Alumni Fund can be any size. You can also choose to make single gifts by cheque or credit/debit card, or to give through monthly, quarterly or annual instalments. Regular standing order donations are particularly helpful to us, as they enable us to plan ahead for future needs.
