Birmingham Drinks’ Reception – Thursday 26 May

Sheffield alumni from Birmingham and the surrounding area enjoyed an informal drinks’ reception at the Bluu Brasserie in Birmingham on Thursday 26 May 2011.

The evening was the next in the series of “Bringing Sheffield to You” events, which have previously been held in Manchester and Newcastle. We hope to continue this series of informal evenings for alumni to meet up in locations across the UK.

Guests were welcomed by staff from the Alumni Relations Office and the evening offered the chance for alumni to network and reminisce about their time at the University. A fun prize draw saw Norman Mann (BA Economics, Accountancy & Law, 1964) receive an alumni goody bag and Sue Fraser guest of John Ross (BEng Electronic Engineering, 1970) win the ‘Our Students’ Journey’ print by Joe Scarborough. The evening was a great success and was a welcome opportunity for the University to build links with our alumni in the West Midlands.
