Alumni access to the new Information Commons building

Alumni curious about the new Information Commons building may wish to have a quick look around the fantastic facilities on offer to our students, if they are visiting the University.

The building has 24 hour access and therefore there is strict security in place, with card access required for staff and students - the general public are not allowed into the building. However we have come up with a solution to enable alumni to look around the facilities. But in order to avoid being refused entry we request that you provide us with advanced notice of your intentions to visit the new building.

Please contact the Alumni Office on the email below, providing your name, course details and the date and time you intend to visit. We will then forward your details onto the Information Commons security staff so that they can add you to their visitor list for that day.

Please be aware that if you do not provide advanced notification, we cannot guarantee that you will be allowed entry to the Information Commons building. During normal working hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) you will be directed to the Development and Alumni Relations Office, where a member of staff may be able to obtain access to the building for you. Unfortunately if you turn up unannounced in the evening or at weekends you will not be given access.
