Staff, students and alumni take part in University Quiz Night

Over 350 staff, students and alumni took part in the University Quiz Night on Thursday 4 March 2010 to raise money to support student scholarships. Teams of between four and six members went head to head to claim the winner’s trophy and the title of “University of Sheffield, Quiz Night 2010 Winners”.

The top placed team was “Cervus Elaphus”, captained by alumnus Paul McKay (MArch, 2008). Paul was also the captain of the 2008 Sheffield University Challenge team who reached the final of the show.

The runners-up were Careers Service team “The Society for the Protection of CV Spelin Erors” and third place were “The Wrench Monkeys” from the department of Mechanical Engineering.

The evening raised over £700 that will be going towards a student scholarship at the University. On behalf of the Development and Alumni Relations Office and the Events Team we would like to say thank you to all those who took part in the quiz.
