Entry Requirements for Aerospace Engineering Courses

For the entry in 2013:

A wide range of qualifications is acceptable for entry to our courses. Due to demand applicants are advised that an offer will be made for one course only. There is provision for an applicant to change course where places are available.

All students will require an English language qualification such as GCSE grade C, or IELTS average grade 6.5 with at least 6 in each component.

All home students offered a place will be invited to attend an Open Day.

Typical entry requirements are:

GCE/VCE A Levels:

 AAA (MEng) or AAB (BEng) from 3 GCE A Levels including GCE A Level Maths plus either GCE A Level Physics or VCE A Level Engineering/Science

Scottish Highers:

 AA + AAAAB (MEng) or AB + AAABB (BEng) including 2 Advanced Highers in Maths and Physics

Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level):

 AAAAAB (MEng) or AAAABB (BEng) from 6 Highers, including Maths and Physics

BTEC Level N:

 DDD in an appropriate subject area, plus A in A Level Maths (MEng) or, B in A Level Maths (BEng).

International Baccalaureate:

 37 points (MEng) or 35 points (BEng) including 6 HL Maths and Physics

Welsh Baccalaureate:

 Pass + AA in two A-levels (MEng and BEng)

Advanced Diploma:

 Engineering grade A, plus grade A in A-level Maths (MEng and BEng)

Cambridge Pre-U:

 D3 D3 D3 (MEng) or D3 D3 M2 (BEng)

Foundation Year:

 Applicants without appropriate Maths or Physics can enter our courses after taking H407 (Aerospace Engineering with a Foundation Year). Entry requirements are A-levels: ABB from 3 GCE A-Levels, required subject is GCSE Math grade B or equivalent + GCSE Science grade B or equivalent; BTEC ND: DDD in an appropriate subject area including Distinction in Maths for Technicians and Further Maths for Technicians
