Ford WISE Prize 2010 Award
Kiranjit Nijindar Singh who graduated in 2010 with a first class BEng in Aerospace Engineering, has been awarded the runner-up prize in the Ford WISE Prize 2010. The annual Ford WISE Prize is sponsored by Ford Motor Company and WISE (Women Into Science and Engineering) to recognise outstanding commitment and achievement by female undergraduates in engineering. Kiranjit was presented with a certificate and cheque for £250 by Princess Anne, the Princess Royle. She also met the Chief Engineer at Ford and other outstanding female engineers.
After the ceremony Kiranjit said:
"It was indeed a pleasant experience meeting the Chief Engineer of Ford and other women in the field of engineering. I am about to complete my first placement in Rolls-Royce and looking forward to the second in January. Next year, I am hoping to start on MSc in Gas Turbine Controls which is a company-sponsored masters program.
I would like to place my sincere thanks to the staff in the aerospace department for supporting me throughout my two years degree."
