Biography

Dr Paul Trodden is a Lecturer in the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering (ACSE), University of Sheffield. Paul received his Master's degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford in 2003. After graduating, he worked as a Systems Engineer for BAE Systems Avionics in Edinburgh. In 2005, he moved to the University of Bristol to pursue a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, under the guidance of Arthur Richards. He obtained his Doctorate in 2009, remaining at Bristol as a post-doctoral researcher before moving to the School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh, where he was a member of the Edinburgh Research Group in Optimization (ERGO) and the Edinburgh Optimization for Energy group.

Research interests

Dr Trodden's research interests lie broadly in control theory and optimization. More specifically,

Dr Trodden is a member of the Autonomous Systems and Robotics research group.

PhD projects

I am offering PhD projects in distributed model predictive control and optimization and control for power networks. Studentships and scholarships are available for home, EU and overseas students.
