First Lego League at The University of Sheffield

The First Lego League is a robot building competition aimed at pupils year 11 and below. The competition is organised globally but is realised in the first instance through regional competitions. The competition winners qualify for the national finals.

Brief overview of the challenge

School teams compete to:

• build a programmable robot performing given tasks most successfully
• prepare a presentation on the theme
  
• perform well in a technical interview
• demonstrate good team working

The team performing best overall is the winner with each component counting equally.
