If you have an interest in systems engineering, or even if you just want to find out whether you might have, we are more than happy to meet you and share our excitement for the subject. There are a number of ways you can find out more about systems engineering at Sheffield.
Informal visit
You can come and see us even if you haven't applied directly to us yet. Just email us at adacse@sheffield.ac.uk and we'll arrange a date that's convenient for you. It's a great opportunity to learn more about our degrees, meet our staff and have a look round the Department.
Departmental Open Days

Everyone applying through UCAS is invited to an extended visit of the Department and the University. Visits last from 11:30am to around 4:30pm but you are free to leave at any point during the day if you wish. You'll get a real insight into systems engineering and the distinct nature of our department. A member of our staff will give you a personal interview, and you'll also get the invaluable opportunity of talking with current students to find out what life here is really like. You then have a tour of the students' union and a visit to a hall of residence, so you can check out the accommodation on offer. |

University Open Days
Find out why students love it here – the Times Higher survey 2011 says we're the university most people would recommend to a friend.
Our University Open Days are open to everyone. You'll be able to have a look round the campus, visit the students' union and get a feel for student life in Sheffield.
The day includes a short talk on systems engineering and a tour of our facilities.
Schools outreach
We arrange many activities for schools to allow pupils to gain first-hand experience of systems engineering. Full details of these are available on the schools outreach pages.
