Industrial Liaison Committee
The Department's Industrial Liaison Committee is composed of a mixture of industrial and academic members. The industrialists on the committee have an awareness of the skills employers need in new graduates, whereas the academics have an unbiased view of what constitutes a good, broad-based education.
Industrial and academic committee members
The primary role of the committee is to advise the Department on its teaching provision, with particular emphasis on the suitability of its degree programmes as training for careers in engineering. In this way, the committee ensures the employability of this Department's graduates.
The committee also enhances the Department's teaching by providing:
- Industrial speakers
- Industrially based student projects
