Colloquium on Optimisation for Control

When: Monday April 24th 2006.
Where: University of Sheffield.
Funding: With the support of the IEEE UK Control Systems Chapter.
Plenary Speaker: Marco Campi, (IEEE Distinguished lecturer)
Confirmed Speakers: Da Wei Gui, Peter Fleming, Richard Vinter, Victor Becerra

Overview:

  1. Following last years event, the committee agreed to keep a focus on PhD students. Therefore an opportunity to share current thinking in a highly palatable fashion, rather than going into too much detail of new results.
  2. We are soliciting talks from leading researchers within the UK who could give insight into their particular niche of optimisation within control. We anticipate an overview of the field.
  3. We would encourage speakers to produce handouts for attendees and perhaps a proceedings.

Programme: A programme for the day and abstracts of the presentations are available for download opposite.

Costing: The event is non-profit making so we would make a small charge only to cover room hire, lunch, drinks and any photo copying. The expected charge is £20 a head, including presenters. Non-presenters should register in advance so we know the catering requirements.
