University accommodation application
Step by step guide 2012/13
> Step 1Check out our webpages to help you decide on the type of room and location you are interested in. Why not take a virtual tour to help you decide? |
> Step 2If you are holding a conditional or unconditional offer to study here and have accepted your place, you can apply for accommodation online from 2012 onwards. |
> Step 3Once we receive your application, we'll send you an acknowledgement email. If you're an insurance offer holder, we'll also email you a confirmation slip as part of your acknowledgement - keep this safe as you'll need it later on. |
> Step 4When you have met the conditions of your accepted offer, UCAS will automatically notify us of this and we will then process your application for accommodation. If you accept your insurance offer and still want to live in University accommodation, you'll need to return the confirmation slip we sent you in step 3 by email to accommodationoffice@sheffield.ac.uk. > Step 4aFrom mid-July, we begin to allocate accommodation. Unconditional offer holders who meet the terms of our guarantee are the first to be allocated. |
> Step 5Once we have allocated you a room, we will email you with details of how to view your contract online. You will need to pay a holding deposit of £150.00 and set up a payment plan for your rent in order to accept your contract. If you don't accept your contract by the date stated in your email, we will re-allocate the room to another student, so remember to make a note of the date. Make sure the email address that you provide is one you check regularly so we have a way of getting in touch with you. If you have high security settings, our emails can sometimes go directly into your Spam folder. |
