New Students
Full details concerning the registration scheme for private sector housing operated by propertywithUS (part of the Accommodation Office, within Accommodation and Commercial Services) including information regarding access to the Housing Finder website, will be sent to new students who contact propertywithUS stating they would like to search for private accommodation. However, all new students must hold an Unconditional Firmly Acccepted (Undergraduates) / Unconditional Acceptance (Postgraduates) offer to study at the University of Sheffield and have not applied or accepted a contract for University accommodation.

In order for you to start your search for private sector housing it will be necessary for you to visit Sheffield and it is recommended that you allow at least two full days in Sheffield in which to search for suitable housing. If you require accommodation for this period it is recommended that you book into a local hotel or guesthouse before your arrival in Sheffield.
If you would like to discuss your housing requirements with a member of staff then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Finally, do remember that demand for private sector housing reaches a peak during August and September when new and returning students start looking for accommodation before the beginning of the academic year. The supply is therefore reduced in September and new students are advised, if possible, to avoid this busy period.
