University family accommodation

We have a number of apartments and refurbished houses available for student couples and families, which are close to shops, good local schools and on public transport routes. They are popular with student families, and tend to be over-subscribed.

University accommodation for families is generally:

• Self contained with its own living space, kitchens and bathrooms
• Situated within 1.5 miles of campus - within walking distance and on good public transport routes
• In great locations
• Fully furnished with central heating and washing machines or on-site laundry facilities
• Contracts are usually renewable each year from 01 August, so you won’t have to keep moving

Private accommodation

There is a high demand for University family accommodation, therefore you may have to look for accommodation in the private sector. Please be aware that it can be difficult for both home and international students to find and book private housing in advance and the University is unable to enter into any form of tenancy agreement with a private housing landlord on behalf of a student.

For these reasons you are advised, where possible, to come alone in the first instance, and to make arrangements for your family to travel only when suitable family accommodation has been found.
